Description[]
Soul Bursts are a special class of technique which channel the user's soul energy and manifest it in a variety of ways. In most cases, they are displayed as physical attacks but rarer passive techniques exist which channel the energy inwards and enhance the user themselves.
Types[]
Basic[]
These can be used without cost. Basic Soul Bursts vary from ability boosters to pseudo-transformations to basic techniques, nothing overly flashy.
Intermediate[]
Intermediate Soul Bursts have a cost when used, which varies depending on the type and power.Ranging from lesser flashy attacks to massive damagers. The more powerful these are, the greater the damage suffered by the user as a price.
Transformation type Intermediates do damage relative to how much it enhances the user, small boosts do small inverse damage. In general, Intermediate transformations are much greater than their basic counterparts.
Advanced/Ultimate[]
Ultimate Soul Bursts have a heavy cost for using them. In general these always do a massive amount of damage, much greater than the strongest of Intermediate Soul Bursts.
Transformation type Ultimates have a very short time limit on them, severely limiting how long they can be used in combat for. If the user somehow forces themself past this timer, the negative effects inflicted afterwards increase rapidly.
Side-Effects[]
Due to their nature, Soul Bursts can cause a variety of negative effects to their users as they consume the user's soul energy, or life force.
Some of them take effect instantly, some of them happen gradually over time. Negative effects range from fatigue, loss of senses, temporary/permanent paralysis or just intense physical pain. They can also have a mental cost instead of a physical one, affecting the user's memory, personality or morality.
The more powerful a Soul Burst is, the more severe these effects become, even more so at Ultimate level as they have the potential to kill their users.
